The Best Music Websites You Might Now Know About
If any of you are interested, here is a story that I wrote for Her Campus UNC. It’s an online magazine for college women and this semester I’m writing for them!
I hope to contribute some health/nutrition/fitness posts eventually but the one I wrote this week is about my favorite music streaming & download sites.
Check it out! I want my article to get the most views this week :)

National Dance Day - July 30th

If you watch the show “So You Think You Can Dance” like I do, then you know that National Dance Day is coming up! It’s on July 30th and if you want to celebrate, head on over to the So You Think You Can Dance website to choose from 3 dances to learn.

This year, National Dance Day is being celebrated at all Participating Six Flags Amusement Parks but you can celebrate at home with your friends and family instead if you like.  That’s what I’m going to do.

You can choose from a Master Class Dance by Tabitha and Napolean (NappyTabs) to LMFAO’s “Party Rock”, an Intermediate Dance from Robin Antin, or a beginner salsa dance from Mary Murphy.

I’m learning the Party Rock dance. It’s awesome!

If I can perform it well enough and my sister gets a good video of it, I’ll post a video of myself dancing.

Who wants to join the fun??

Workout Playlist Week 4!
Enjoy!!
Hello Good Morning – This song will wake you up in the morning!!  I think it’s a great start to a workout playlist.  Gets you up and out the door, down the street, around the corner, and down a good stretch of the road/trail.

Icky Thump – This songs would be good from trudging up a hill methinks.  Or a mud run… Or if you feel like bobbin your head while you run.
Rocketeer – this song is fun to sing because of the falscetto (sp?).   It makes you just want to glide along! “Where we go we don’t need roads” possible trail song?  I think so. Also talks about flying, which is always a sign of a good running song
Outta Your Mind – This song makes my blood boil in a riot kind of way.  An adrenaline surging, hysteria inducing, rant of a song!  This will definitely wake you up. “Get Outta Your Mind!”
Love Like Woe – This song makes me happy!  It’s great beat and catchy lyrics will make your athletic endeavors all the more enjoyable!
Cmon Catch Em By Surprise – This song is great! Great beat, fast lyrics, some techno sound, random encouragement yelled in the background (Cmon!).  Success guaranteed
Injection – This powerful Rise Against song is good for a steady fast pace. Try picking up your run or cycling for the length of this song and go anaerobic!  Just an idea
Beast Mode – This could be a good song for when you feel like quitting because it pumps you up so well. Who can wimp out when you hear the words “I’m in beast mode”?  No one. So listen to it.
Higher – This is a new personal favorite of mine! I’ve been listening to it on repeat for the last week.  Ah it reminds me so much of running because of that kindof euphoria you get when you really go hard.
All of the Lights – This song has a good rhythm and the feel of a song that can put you in the zone and just go.  Plus Rihanna is awesome.
Bleed it Out  - I feel like this is a classic athletic song but it is that because it’s awesome!  For those of you who haven’t heard it, you are in for a muscle twitching, sweat inducing, adrenaline rush of a song!
Drop Down – This is awesome especially when it gets to the chorus! You just want to sing along and move!
Hold It Against Me – Britney Spears is back with a punchy techno/pop song that is uber catchy and awesome to workout to.
I Will Not Bow – This song makes anyone who hears it feel like a badass.  When the chorus comes on: “I will not bow! I will not break!” you get a surge of determination that propels you threw any grueling stage of any grueling sport!
Dreams Up – The start of this song is so soothing.  Good for when you need to relax and lose yourself.  The melody is so sweet.  Fast lyrics and beat keep you going but this song has a cool down quality too
Time Flies – Great hip-hop song.  Also with a calming but upbeat quality like the last song. I love the lyrics!  Very motivational!  “What are you waiting for?” “Let’s change the game”
