National Dance Day - July 30th

If you watch the show “So You Think You Can Dance” like I do, then you know that National Dance Day is coming up! It’s on July 30th and if you want to celebrate, head on over to the So You Think You Can Dance website to choose from 3 dances to learn.

This year, National Dance Day is being celebrated at all Participating Six Flags Amusement Parks but you can celebrate at home with your friends and family instead if you like.  That’s what I’m going to do.

You can choose from a Master Class Dance by Tabitha and Napolean (NappyTabs) to LMFAO’s “Party Rock”, an Intermediate Dance from Robin Antin, or a beginner salsa dance from Mary Murphy.

I’m learning the Party Rock dance. It’s awesome!

If I can perform it well enough and my sister gets a good video of it, I’ll post a video of myself dancing.

Who wants to join the fun??

This is me slaloming this morning! So much fun! I haven’t done it in a year but I was able to get up just fine and still carve back and forth pretty well.  I guess it is just like riding a bike, you never forget!
My sister and I used to go to water ski camps when we were little and the counselors were all competitive water skiers and wakeboarders.  We learned to slalom, knee board, wake board and barefoot ski.  (<—-barefooting is scary as hell). :D
Thanks to my sister for the awesome pictures!

Loving The Lake

So this weekend I’m staying at a Lake and it’s awesome!

Lots of kayaking, swimming, frolicking, and wakeboarding.  :D

I didn’t bring my bike and I don’t have any weights so for exercise I’m doing the above-mentioned activities plus body weight stuff and running.

I’ve gotten out of the running groove and have been trying for the past week to get back into it but just haven’t had the motivation.  Yesterday though, I ran for 30 minutes and did about 3.5 miles and it was awesome!

I’m tired from being in the sun a lot and I’ve done lots of activities that I’m not used to doing so that’s contributing to wearing me out.

Oh yeah, my sister and I also played water frisbee.  It’s where you throw a frisbee back and forth while you tread water.  It’s pretty tough.  You have to kick you legs really hard to kindof “jump” out of the water so you can throw it well.  Try it sometime if you’re ever in a pool or a lake :)

New Sport of the Day: Kronum is a new game for the new era of modern athlete that’s basically soccer, but with a whole bunch of new rules.

Complicated? What’s complicated? You spin the Wheel of Mayhem to go up the Ladder of Chance. You go past the Mud Hut, through the Rainbow Ring to get to the Golden Monkey. You yank his tail, and BOOM — you’re in paradise pond!

Could not be more straightforward.

This sounds like my kind of game! It’s like a cross between handball and soccer and basketball and quidditch maybe ? haha
