How Walkable is Your Neighborhood?

This website is pretty cool. Type in your address and it gives you a score (out of 100) based on how ‘walkable’ your neighborhood/city is.

My home at UNC is very walkable with a score of 89 but my parent’s home has the sucktastic score of 6.

It also gives you a public transportation score.

How does your neighborhood stack up?

Daddy-Daughter Bike Project
So my birthday is coming up in a month and half and I was thinking that it would be a really cool present from my dad if he would help me fix up my old commuter bike and convert it into a sweet fixed gear.
My Dad and I are not super close like my Mom and I are but I know that he is proud of me and loves me even if he doesn’t express it as often or as emphatically as my Mom does.
My Dad loves to build things, fix things, modify things, design things, etc.  He’s really quite talented.  He can build furniture, he has helped build the two houses we’ve had and he can fix nearly any household problem.  He originally fixed up my bike when I went to college.  It was my older sister’s bike so it’s about 15 years old.
I think this bike project could be a good way for us to bond.  :D I will ask him soon, maybe this weekend.
