Handy "Cooking Oil Comparison Chart" →
This is an awesome chart comparing different cooking oils and color coding them depending on whether they have Omega 3’s, saturated fats, monounsaturated fats, Omega 6’s, etc.   It also tells you whether each oil is refined and whether it would be better for cooking or for a dressing. Reasons Why Today Has Been Awesome:
Today is LDOC! Last Day of Classes! I got my UNC Kenan Flagler Business Essentials Certificate today! This was for an online business program that was pretty hard to do, especially during my other classes I was named hardest working employee on the UNC Campus Recreation Special Events staff and got a cool half zip jacket as a present :) I got “Most Energetic” Award for Special...

Wednesday workout
I’m working up to a pretty heavy deadlift. I think I’ll try to find my 1RM next week and then deload for a week after that during finals.  I might try to get 250lbs next week! I also experimented with complexes today.  I used 65lbs and did 5 bent over rows, 1 hang clean, 3 push presses, and 5 front squats for 4 rounds.  The push presses were definitely the limiting factor.  Next time,...

alexamarx replied to your post: Body fat testing and another PR did you determine your rmr? im curious how the measured value compares to say if you did the calculation. Good question! The bodpod gave me an RMR of only 1360 kcal. That is lower than the value than I’ve gotten from any online calculator For example: This site gives me and RMR of 1,488 This one gives me 1541 This one...

Body fat testing and another PR
Good news! New bench press PR today. 105lbs for 3 reps Today in my exercise physiology lab we got to do Hydrostatic weighing (underwater weighing) and the Bod pod.  Both methods are really cool. The bod pod smelled like chemicals and is pretty small so if you’re not good with small spaces you wouldn’t like it.  It also made my ears pop. We had to wear an unflattering red cap to keep...

Squatz on squatz
Great lifting day today.  10lb squat PR!! Finally hit the big 200lbs! Edit** Holy crap this puts my 1RM at 230lbs!! 0_o Also, tomorrow in my Exercise Physiology lab we are getting hydrostatic weighing performed.  I’m excited and nervous at the same time! We’ve used the BIA gadgets and skin fold testing in lab and now we are going for a super accurate measure.  Thrusters: 45 lb...

My Strength & Conditioning Coach
“Travis Mash made history at the 2004 GNC Show of Strength by totaling 2414 lbs in the 220-lb class. This total surpassed the legendary Ed Coan and places Travis as one of the greatest powerlifters in history. He pursued Olympic lifting for awhile and trained at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 2001, Travis’s best lifts included a 970-lb squat, a 705-lb bench...

Exhausted!
I am so tired!! I spent about 4 hours today practicing parkour. 2 hours at a free community parkour meetup hosted by Fifth Ape and 2 hours of private parkour instruction by Colin, the owner of Fifth Ape.  I also ran and walked to and from the parkour location twice and to Chipotle for dinner.   I will definitely sleep well tonight!  My body’s a little bruised and cut up but nothing too...

Yesterday's Workout and Breathe Carolina Concert
2 Rounds of: 100m of body weight lunges 300m of partner fireman carries (20 burpees every time you need to switch positions) This was a fun, simple, and tough workout. I liked it! My partner was a guy named Braden because there were no other girls there so he had to carry me and I had to carry him lol.  I carried a dude on my shoulders! It was cool. I think I impressed him with how far I could...

Today Was A Great Day for Deadlifts!
My previous 1RM for deadlifts was 235lbs. Last week I was a little discouraged for only getting 3 reps at 205lbs. Well today I did 5 reps with 215 and then 7 reps with 205! It was too easy! I had to double check the weight to make sure I hadn’t shorted myself. Now my estimated 1RM is almost 250lbs! (248).  My sis did great too with her own PR! I’ve been on a high ever since my...
